Brief Description
When ERP Mode is enabled in the BIOS, the Embedded Controller (EC) will shut down the standby power rail (V12A) to comply with energy-saving standards (
EU 2023/826) (Please refer to the attached explanation of the energy-saving regulation EU 2023/826)
.
As a result, the system disables standby power to several components during shutdown.
· The front OSD panel loses power and becomes non-functional.
· The battery charging circuit stops working, so the battery cannot charge while the system is off.
Solution
To allow the front OSD and battery charging functions to work while the system is off, disable ERP Mode in the BIOS:
- Power on the system and press the designated key to enter BIOS setup.
- Navigate to:
Chipset → PCH-IO Configuration → Power Saving Function (ERP) - Set ERP to Disabled .
- Save changes and reboot the system.
