First-Person View AI Vision × MCS System Redundancy and HA: Fortifying AMR Fleet Management and Logistics Operational Continuity

At the CASTEC booth (Hall 2, 1F | Q5258), IEI applies Edge AI to Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) safety. Using AMR-mounted cameras to capture first-person vision alongside the AiEi (Intelligent Vision Software Platform), the system detects moving personnel, obstacles along travel routes, and foreign objects on the floor in real time. It proactively alerts and signals the AMR to decelerate or stop, reducing collision risks in shared human-robot spaces.

To support 24/7 AMR fleet operations, IEI builds HA (High Availability) architecture using iVEC (IEI Virtualization Edge Computer), the iRM (IEI Remote Management), and QNAP Enterprise Storage. By integrating networking, computing, and storage resources into an Edge Micro Data Center that can be deployed in an on-site rack, reducing the risk of fleet management disruptions caused by a Single Point of Failure (SPOF) in the Material Control System (MCS).

  iVEC provides virtualized MCS environments while iRM monitors primary and standby servers. If the primary server fails, the backup takes over instantly to maintain fleet dispatching.

  Combining QNAP HA Manager and RAID technology, a dual-Storage architecture synchronizes data. If primary storage fails, the standby node seamlessly assumes control to protect logs and scheduling data.

Integrating Edge AI Vision with MELFA Arms: Elevating Collaborative Safety

At the Mitsubishi Electric booth (Hall 1, 1F | J2754), IEI will showcase a real-time Edge AI vision application combining its TANK-XM811 embedded edge computing system and AiEi Intelligent Vision Software Platform with Mitsubishi Electric MELFA robots.

In controlled semiconductor manufacturing environments, AiEi detects personnel entering designated zones in real time and, through ROS 2 integration, enables MELFA robots to decelerate or stop based on predefined safety conditions, helping reduce risks in human-robot collaboration.

Combining low-power edge computing with low-latency TCC/TSN communications, the solution supports responsive control and efficient system integration, while long-term security updates simplify lifecycle management.
