泥石流监测

泥石流属于"mountain tsunamis" 严重自然灾害，每年会造成多人死亡。历史上曾出现两起重大泥石流事件，分别是 1985 年哥伦比亚阿梅隆惨案，造成 20000 多人死亡，1999 年委内瑞拉瓦尔加斯州悲剧，造成数万人死亡。
根据 geology.com 描述，“泥石流是由松散的泥土、沙子、土壤、岩石、水和空气组成的移动体，在重力的影响下沿着斜坡向下移动。...[且]至少 50% 的物质必须是砂粒或更大的颗粒。”
与应对其他自然灾害一样，减轻最严重的威胁、做好灾害准备和实施准确的预测技术有助于防止灾害和人员伤亡。
